Who we are
Digital Eye is operated by [legal entity name and address]. For privacy questions, write to marko@digitaleyeapp.com.
The short version
The app doesn't require an account. Your camera pictures aren't saved or sent anywhere, and your settings stay on your phone.
What the app uses and why
- Camera. Shows the live, magnified picture. Pictures aren't stored or sent by the app.
- Read aloud. Text is recognized on your device using Google ML Kit, then spoken by your phone's text-to-speech service.
- Approximate location, if you allow it. Works out sunset and sunrise for automatic light, and chooses which local sponsor offers to show. This choice happens on your phone.
- Precise location, if you allow it. Adds your location to a help message for your trusted person. It goes only to that person, and only if you press send in your messaging app.
- Phone calls, if you allow it. Places SOS and trusted-person calls directly. If you refuse, the phone's dialer opens instead.
- Trusted person. The name and number you choose are stored on your phone.
- Quick-start shortcut, if you turn it on. This accessibility service only counts volume button presses. It doesn't read your screen or what you type.
What stays on your phone
Your diopter, display settings, language, profiles and trusted person are stored on your device. The app excludes them from Android backups. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Services that receive information
- Sponsor list. The app downloads the list of sponsor offers from our server. As with any download, the server can see your IP address. Your location isn't sent.
- Google Play. Google processes purchases of Plus under its own privacy policy. We don't receive your payment details.
- Google ML Kit. Google may collect limited technical and usage information about this component, under its own terms.
- Sponsor links. Opening a sponsor's website takes you to a site with its own privacy policy.
This website
This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. It stores your high-contrast choice in your browser, and it loads fonts from Google Fonts, which can see your IP address. If you email us, we use your message to reply.
Your choices and rights
You can withdraw any permission in your phone's settings at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, and to complain to your data protection authority. Contact us to use these rights.
Children
Digital Eye isn't directed at children under [age to confirm].
